The Alpen Haus Resort in conveniently located at the junction of Highways 26 & 89 just 36 miles south of Jackson Hole where three major rivers come together. The Snake, the Greys, and the Salt Rivers meet to form the Palisades Reservoir--one of the top listed earth filled dams in the nation it holds 1.25 million acre feet of water which provides great fishing, boating and water sports. In the winter Alpine is at the heart of prime snowmobiling and ice fishing country.
In addition we are within a short driving distance to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park as well as scenic Star Valley which holds awards for their drinking water. Alpine's elk feed ground in winter is located one mile south of town as well as USDA Forest Service Bird Refuge. Our area is a MECCA for the photographer whether you are an amateur or a professional.
