For any of you travelling for the first time to Amsterdam, be aware that it is quite expensive and that the rooms are small, if not cramped. My single room at €100 per night plus taxes was a single bed, with private bathroom, closet, tv, free internet, table/desk and chair. The space was not larger than 10’ x 7’. Suffice it to say that everything needed for a good sleep was there including clean sheets, soap, shampoo, clean towels etc. The walk up to the rooms could be a bit hazardous as there are tight, narrow and steep steps. This is all typical for Amsterdam, so no surprise there. Reception and cleaning staff are friendly and accommodating. The location is superb, especially if travelling alone as a woman (you would not want to rent something along a dark alley ). The accommodations were what I expected. Nothing grand but good value for Amsterdam.
