Located in the northern portion of Puerto Rico, Arecibo is geographically the largest city on the island. Arecibo is situated amid the northern coastal valley region of Puerto Rico. This region is scattered with wooded hills and caves. Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Arecibo has an average temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Arecibo is home to the third largest cave system in the world, known as The Camuy Caves. A Caguana Indian Ceremonial Park is also located here and Arecibo has a rich cultural history.
