The rich history of Hotel Rader goes back to 1780. It was built as government building for the Bergbouverwaltung., for the extraction of silver and gold from the surrounding mountains. The fountain in front of the hotel was bought at the world fair in 1878 by Kaiser Franz Josef. The hotel was in his possession as a SPA Center at the time. In 1914 Kaiser Franz Josef has given the building to Bad Gastein.
