Car Rental

If you decide to brave the traffic in Barcelona and rent a car, you'll find five companies from which to choose at the Barcelona airport: Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National ATESA and Sol-Mar. All of these companies can be found on the ground floors of both Terminal B and Terminal C.

Public/Ground Transfer

You have two choices for getting two and from BCN with public transportation. The train, known as RENFE in Spain, has a terminal right at the airport, is cheap and will take you into the center of Barcelona in about 30 minutes. The bus will also take you into the center of Barcelona and can be found in front of every terminal, however, the train is often a faster option. Once in the city, you can then connect to the metro (subway) and go anywhere in the city.

Airport Shuttles

There are some private shuttle services that you can book ahead of time to take you to or from the airport. These shuttle services operate on a fixed rate and are often shared with other passengers. They can be cheaper than a taxi, especially if you get stuck in traffic, however, since you will be sharing the ride, the shuttle will often make several stops and is not always the fastest option.

Limousine Services

If you want the benefits of booking a private service ahead of time, but don't want to share the ride, consider a limo service. As in many other major cities, you'll pay a fixed rate, be greeted at the airport by your driver and taken directly to wherever you wish to go.

Taxi Services

Taxi stands are located outside in front of each terminal and will cost 20 Euros give or take a few depending on where you're going in the city. Be aware that you will also be charged a luggage fee, so make sure to ask ahead of time what that is. The ride lasts about 20 to 30 minutes, but of course, depends on traffic.
