For decades, Bridlington has held its ground as one of England's finest seaside resort areas. Pristine sandy beaches stretch to vast chalk cliffs providing locals and tourists with gorgeous sea views and numerous places to stretch their legs and look for unique rocks, fossils, shells, and even some sea creatures. Two beaches are separated by the harbor where anyone is welcome to walk down the pier and watch the fishermen return with their seafood harvest.
North Beach is a mix of sand and stone and stretches to Flamborough's chalk cliffs. Rumors have it that the staircase carved into the cliffs is haunted. Many have seen an old man walking these stairs with his wheelbarrow. South Beach sits in front of Bridlington Spa and is pure golden sands that stretch for miles upon miles. Both beaches hold Seaside Award flags, meaning the water quality passes stringent tests for pollution and other contaminants.
