We would suggest that the quickest and easiest way to get there is by taking the motorway but please be advised that traffic jams are not uncommon and you may therefore need to allow time for this when planning your journey. Also please be aware that driving in Italy can be a little tricky if you are not used to the roads (and the other drivers!) and that road signs are sometimes unclear.
