Built in 1856, the Inn at Monticello is a comfortable yet elegant bed and breakfast inn situated on 5 wooded acres. The Inn is located within 2 miles of Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and Historic Michie Tavern and only a short drive from downtown Charlottesville, the University of Virginia, and numerous vineyards. The Inn has 5 guest rooms and a cottage that is sometimes available for guests. All rooms have private baths and king or queen size beds. Several rooms have private porches or wood-burning fireplaces. Our largest room, the Cottage, has a queen size canopy bed dating to the early 1800's, with hand-stitched hangings, and a gas fireplace, new mahogany flooring, and a 2 person steam shower. All rooms are decorated with oriental rugs, and antiques and reproductions from the colonial and victorian eras. We offer the comforts of today, with the tasteful style of yesterday.
