Daimaru Besso is a hot spring inn with a history that goes back 1360 years, and is even written about in the Manyoshu, Japan's oldest anthology of poems. It flourished as Hakata's onsen town since ancient times, and can be reached from in just 13 minutes by train from the city centre, or 25 minutes by car from the airport. It is located in a wonderful natural environment, surrounded by mountains that are perfect for climbing.
