Fishing, boating and swimming are at your fingertips, when you stay at Legion Lake. You can rent a variety of watercraft, from paddle boats to hydrobikes. When youve had your fill of water activities, rent a mountain bike and begin exploring the forest. The Centennial Trail is right out the back door! For hikers, We recommend the Badger Clark Historic Trail. Badger Clark found this area behind his home particularly inspirational. Located in Custer State Park, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Near Mount Rushmore National Monument, historic Deadwood, and many more area attractions. Located along Galena Creek, Legion Lake Lodge dates back to 1913 when Custer State Park was a game preserve in the Custer State Forest. At that time, the area was leased by the local American Legion post, and thus the basis for the lodges name. Mirroring the ponderosa pines and sheer rock walls, Legion Lake offers wonderful photo opportunities. It is a natural water stop for the Parks wildlife. Cottages are nestled in the pines at this lake lodge.
