As South Dakota's first and largest state park, spanning more than 70,000 acres, Custer State Park offers thousands of vistas, high and low, numerous outdoor activities and many attractions such as Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park and the Crazyhorse Memorial. Also stretching through the park is the Centennial Trail, a manmade biking and hiking trail that provides a well-marked path to lead visitors through the beautiful South Dakota wilderness. Accomodations can be found in Nearby Custer and other proximate towns and cities, and for more social ambitions, visitors can head to Rapid City to the east or Deadwood to the north.
