Vila Camacho

The 2 star Vila Camacho is a cosy family run guesthouse with 46 rooms all with private bathrooms and a pretty restaurant and terrace noted for its cuisine. All rooms have private bathrooms and telephones. The Vila was not purpose built as a hotel so the rooms come in all shapes and sizes which is part of the charm. Most rooms are quite small but are clean; comfortable; well maintained and brightly decorated with lovely wooden floors; making it an excellent choice for a low cost base from which to explore Funchal and Madeira Island. The Vila has been operating as a guesthouse since 1963 and has many returning customers. The jewel is The Flame Tree Restaurant which serves simple modern Portuguese cooking using local seasonal ingredients and featuring Madeiran dishes. The Vila also offers excellent half board terms. Other facilities include a small pool; a TV bar with major news and sports channels; laptops for hire with wireless internet access and a small wellness centre offering aromatherapy massages and reflexology. Please note that the Vila is located in a hilly area of Funchal and there is no elevator. Free parking is available on the main road outside the hotel. Additional Information; Children age 2 and under stay free in the room with parents and in existing bedding. Children age 3-15 receive a 50pct reduction of the rate per person and half-board. Children over this age will be considered an adult. The hotel reserves the right to without prior notification cancel any reservation with an invalid or incomplete credit card number.
