Fox Cottage is in the small Suffolk hamlet of St Cross South Elmham and was, until 1962, the village pub: The Fox and Hounds. The oldest part of the house is timber framed and possibly as much as 400 years old. The pub’s former bottle store was converted into self-contained guest accommodation – named “Foxhole”.St Cross South Elmham lies in the North of Suffolk, near to the Waveney Valley which forms the border between Suffolk and Norfolk. It is one of a group of hamlets – the South Elmhams and the Ilketshalls – known collectively as “The Saints”. It is only around 16 miles from the beautiful Suffolk Heritage Coast and is in a quiet, rural location with many relaxing gentle local walks.Foxhole consists of a spacious double bedroom with an en suite shower room and toilet. It has its own front door – quite separate from Fox Cottage’s front door – so you can come and go as you please. There is a woodburning stove and outside deck: making it a perfect place to stay whatever the season.Foxhole is the only room Jan and Andrew operate as bed and breakfast accommodation, so you can be sure of their undivided attention.
