well, it took 2 hours to get my car; we ordered a luxury SUV and i was given a Nissan Kicks, which is no luxury SUV; i was overcharged initially; had to go back and fix everything. eventually they gave me another SUV (not the dodge durango we asked but a grand jeep); but was not pleasant.Reviewed 21 Jan 2024

We rented an SUV but when we arrived we were told that we’re none available and we’re forced to take a Nissan Altima for 5 adults. I showed the confirmation email to the Hertz team member and she just shrugged her shoulders and said there was nothing she could do. Was the worst experience I’ve ever had renting a car.Reviewed 13 Nov 2023

Cons:I was never informed that the car couldn’t be taken to St John, where I was staying. That’s part of the Virgin Islands and a short ferry ride away. So I was denied rental upon arrival and then forced to find a very last minute rental from Another agency. Terrible service!Reviewed 27 Jan 2020

Pros:We prepaid for the car in St Thomas for a minivan that we were going to take to St John and have done this for years. The counter help said we couldn't take the car to St John and wouldn't offer us another car or refund our money. Had to go to Budget and get a 7 passenger vehicle at about $250 more.Cons:Hertz could have offered us a car, could have told us we can't take if off the island of St Thomas, or maybe offer to find a car from another company. Hertz also said since we made the reservation through Kayak it is not their problem. Any help Kayak?Reviewed 5 Mar 2019

Cons:I paid for a Jeep months before this trip and when we arrived they didn’t have any Jeeps at all. They said it’s either a Huyandi Sonata or nothing. They didn’t even offer to make up the price difference.Reviewed 14 Feb 2019

Pros:The staff at pick up was super slow, almost rude. and of course extra charges. Always extra charges! Super annoying. I'm sure everyone has a bad day but after 13 hr flight I don't really want to be first in line and still take over an hour to pick up the dang car.Cons:It ended up costing me more then I thought I was paying. And it should be told when signing up that a second driver is way more money. I reserved it as it was a gift but then had to pay more for my husband to drive. Service was good.Pros:The car was well maintained.Cons:They need to post a sign where the Hertz drop off area. I went to the airport and went to check out. I was directed to exit the airport and followed directions. A clearly marked sign would have saved me time and energy.Reviewed 11 Dec 2017

Need my money returnedCons:Plane arrived at 5:00 p.m. We arrived at Hertz desk at 5:15. The girl behind the desk would not rent the car to us because she said they closed at 5:00 p.m. "Come back tomorrow." Luckily Avis had one car available for us to rent or we would have had to spend the night in the airport. We never got to rent the Hertz vehicle. I'll be expecting my money back. The girl behind the Hertz desk should be fired!!!Reviewed 10 Dec 2017
