Only a few miles west of Denver via Interstate 70, Idaho Springs and the surrounding Clear Creek County area are easily reached by travelers flying into Denver. Outdoor recreational opportunities abound here: rafting, fishing, hiking, scenic drives, skiing, and horseback riding to name just a few.
With a population of just under 1,900 people, Idaho Springs can hardly be called a big town. However, in spite of its small size, the town offers a fascinating blend of history, recreation, and fine mountain scenery.
