Pros:I like the location, staff and the facilities like the Gym, Pool and beach.
Cons:The Room is old, requires some update. Bed have no proper doona (duvet), we had lots of ants in our room.

9.1 Wonderful
Pros:We stayed Sunday-Weds and it wasn't crowded/busy at all and so relaxing. We loved the grounds of the resort and the open/airiness of the hotel. We walked arounds all the ponds and looked at the fish and enjoyed the cabanas on the beach. Although we didn't as much advantage of it, there are free workout classes (yoga, pilates, etc) and free usage of the snorkel gear, kayaks, and bikes. The shuttles that can take you to the Fairmont, the Shops (with grocery), and the gym/spa was very convenient. Everyone was very friendly at the hotel. We had an ocean view room where we could view the pool area too and we were able to watch the gorgeous sunset from our balcony every night. Our king bed room was very spacious with double sinks. I would definitely stay here again.
Cons:Not a huge deal, but there were some ants in the bathroom and when I left a can of juice out on our coffee table. We also ate at the Honu bar (spelling?) the new bar and it was just the 2nd night it opened. The food and drinks were overpriced for the atmosphere of the bar, which looks like it was put together with random leftover furniture. I think if they invested more into the ambience the food/drink price would be better matched or keep that space as a casual cafe. It would be nice to have a more casual priced restaurant at the resort, where you could grab coffee, drinks, and sandwiches. I felt like the eating options were limited.

Pros:Resort facilities were amazing and staff was exceptionally helpful. We will be making this our annual vacation.
Cons:Rooms could use updates, but any time we told the staff of any issue they immediately took care of it and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy.

Cons:I used to love this place - the funky retro vibe was kitchy and the staff used to be super friendly. Now? Not so much. I was attacked by what I'm guessing are bedbugs and the front desk had no reaction whatsoever. As a repeat guest they used to upgrade me all the time - this time I asked about it and was told different things (they don't do that anymore, the rooms weren't available, check back later). Meh - there are better options on the island.

Pros:Bought our stay through kayak. Misread the email regarding breakfast, and we thought it was included. Food was crappy, but we thought nothing of it because we assume it was free. Got stuck with a 66$ bill, and when we went to inquire at the front desk they eventually said "sorry we didn't screw up, you did". Worst part is they had a promotion that if you stayed 3 nights you got the 4th for free, and 4 nights would have qualified us for free breakfast. The resort itself was gorgeous, but everything in the area was over priced and sub par. Even the surrounding mini mall is poor value, since everything is catering to the resort. We averaged spending 200$ a day on food, for what was the equivalent of whole foods level food. The view was nice, but will not be returning. Would not recommend

Cons:VERY EXPENSIVE for what you get The $25 resort fee gets you snorkeling gear and thats about it. Everything else costs extra. This is not a place to bring kids. There is very little to do here besides swimming. Food choices are limited. There are 2 expensive restaurants ($100/person), and 2 grills that serve burgers and flatbread pizzas. Clientele are mostly older, childless couples. The wind blew continuously- Might be normal for November? Reefs are in bad health and only saw about 5 species of fish There is nothing to see in the near area. Very isolated. Volcano National Park 3.5hr, Mauna Kea Observatories 1.5hr Rainbow Falls 1.5hr, Hilo 1.5hr, Kona Airport 20min

Pros:Lush landscaping, multiple fish and turtle ponds. Loved the balcony, ocean view. Secluded quiet beach. We went in October so it was not crowded. The breakfast buffet was great. The valet service was exceptional. Snorkeling right there.
Cons:Not enough restaurants. Although the entrance and lobby was grand, it looked a bit shabby. Missing tiles in the hot tub, general upkeep stuff. The room was small even though we paid for high end room.
