Flights to London (Heathrow - LHR)

Parking at London Heathrow Airport is relatively expensive compared to other airports in the world. Short Term Parking is a whopping $4.60 for the first half hour and then every additional half hour adds an additional rate of around $3. Valet Parking is extremely convenient, but very expensive at a little over $100 per day. Business Parking is often closest to the terminals, but costs approximately $50 per day.

Long Term Parking

In London Heathrow Airport, the long term parking lots are referred to as "long-stay parking." Passengers often choose Heathrow Parking Express as it is the easiest and least expensive. The lots are farthest from the terminal, but coach service leaves each lot every ten minutes. Expect travel time of 15 minutes from Terminals 1, 2, and 3. The coach for Terminal 4 runs every 12 to 15 minutes and takes under 10 minutes to reach the terminal. When Terminal 5 opens, it will be added to the Terminal 4 route. Security is tight at all Heathrow parking areas using security cameras, foot patrols, and high fencing. Rates are $31 per day for stays of no more than four days and for more than five days the daily rate is $30.

Another option is to park at London's Paddington Station and then take the train directly to the terminal. Parking is available at Paddington Station for $44 per day or $180 per week. Motorcycles receive a highly discounted rate of $7 per day.

Discount Airport Parking

Heathrow's Parking Express is the least expensive choice for parking on the airport grounds. Rates are listed above in long-term parking. Certain passengers may qualify for a "Super Saver" rate. The rates are only available for online bookings and for certain times. Super Savers cannot be canceled once booked however, so travelers must be certain of their plans.

Handicapped Parking

The Short Term parking areas require a badge proving they are qualified to take a handicapped parking space. If passengers need to take their badge with them on their travels, they must first show their handicapped badge to the parking attendant before leaving for their flight. The multi-level parking garages have height restrictions of under seven feet, so passengers in vans will not be allowed access into these garages. These taller vans should park on the roof parking at Terminal 4, or in the long-stay area. All parking areas have a green courtesy phone for disabled passengers to call for baggage help and suitable shuttle transportation.

Airport Hotel Parking

Certain area hotels utilize a Hotel Hoppa Bus to transport guests from their hotels to the four Heathrow Terminals. Tickets for this bus are $8 for adults, children under 15 travel free with their parent or guardian. Hotels that use this service include Comfort Inn, Crowne Plaza, Heathrow Marriott, Holiday Inn Junction 4, Holiday Inn Bath Road, Ibis, Novotel, Park Inn, Park Inn, Radisson Edwardian, Renaissance, Sheraton Heathrow, Sheraton Skyline, Windsor Marriott, Thistle, and Quality Hotel.

Passengers staying in other area hotels can ask about Hotelink service. This door-to-door service is more costly, $30 one-way for everyone over the age of two. Hotelink can be booked at their counters in both Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 or by visiting their website: link. Minibuses will take passengers directly to their hotel or vice versa.

Hotels do charge for parking. London Heathrow Marriott is reasonably priced, as are the Sheraton Heathrow, Novotel, St. Giles, Marriott Windsor, Jurys Inn, Thistle, Park Inn, and both Holiday Inns. Parking at these hotels is far less expensive than parking at the airport.
