The Park Plaza Lodge Hotel may not qualify as luxurious, but this budget hotel with authentic 1960s architecture provides an ideal base to explore the city's attractions.
Great Value for Money
The Park Plaza Lodge's basic room amenities include cable TV, coffee maker, refrigerator, iron, hair dryer and telephone. Guests can also use the outdoor pool. WiFi is free and convenient for those who need to stay connected. The amicable staff is available 24 hours a day, and the concierge helps guests with itineraries, making spa appointments, and dinner reservations. Free parking is an added bonus for guests planning to drive around the city. The hotel does not have an in-house restaurant, but the restaurant next door, the Fiddler's Bistro, offers hearty meals at good prices, and the food is also available with room service.
In the Vicinity
The hotel is centrally located in Hancock Park, which is also known as the 'Miracle Mile' because of its rise to prominence in the early 20th century. The Grove shopping mall and farmer's market are within walking distance, and the LACMA art museum, La Brea Tar Pits and the historic El Ray Theatre are just a few blocks from the hotel. Several of Hollywood's main attractions, including the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Mann's Chinese Theater, Sunset Strip, and Universal Studios, along with some of California's trendiest beaches, are a short drive away.
Great location for CBS Studio. Lots of food and shopping - if that's what you are looking for.
The restaurant attached, Fiddlers, is good for diner breakfast and good Mediterranean dinner. A little funky, but fine. The heater.cooler covers the traffic noise.
Excellent affordable hotel when I work or play in Hollywood
Living in Long Beach this is where I stay when on a night out in Hollywood. Great prices, great location, friendly staff, and great location
Staff is very pleasant and available. Location is great for my needs, so I stay here often. Bed is comfortable. Room is clean. Price is good for LA.
Bare bones. Under-window heater a/c. No amenities, in room or in hotel. Just a place to sleep. Pillows flat and old. No elevator.
It was convenient to the places I wanted to see and go. Fiddler's was convenient and very good.
The hotel is close to the Grove shopping complex and the Farmers Market
Hotel has limited facilities
This is a comfortable, well maintained, convenient older motel. It's a good value. More importantly, it's also clean.
The main and only is because my son and his family are living in palazo acrose the street and we want to be close to them.
There is no elevator. The air condition was very old and nouisy.
Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The maid service did an excellent job at cleaning the room. Request for quiet room away from street noise was honored. Within walking distance to the Grove, Farmer"s Market and lacma. H.S. Internet worked well
Public areas need updating. Room decor needs updating...table cloth on small table had burn holes in it. A business center/lounge with seating where laptop could be plugged in would be nice for early risers who want to work/check stocks without waking others would be an improvement.
