With some of Idaho's highest peaks right in its backyard, and lovely mountain lakes tucked into rugged valleys, the area around McCall is well-known across the nation as an outdoor paradise. McCall is taking advantage of the interest in the scenery, and has become a premiere tourist spot with quaint shops, fine restaurants and comfortable accommodations. Once a logging community, the city is now associated with all-weather recreation, and although it boasts the informal nickname of Ski Town, USA, every season can be enjoyed in McCall. Because it is almost one hundred miles north of Boise, it exudes a feeling of a frontier paradise and sends a message to all to come and play.
