Car Rental
Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Thrifty all offer rental cars at the Melbourne Airport. They can be found in each of the domestic terminals (T1, T3 and T4) or on the ground floor of the Short Term Car Park. Keep in mind that in Australia they drive on the left-side of the road. If you're staying in the city, the tram system can be a more convenient way to get around.
Public/Ground Transfer
Melbourne Airport does not have a lot of options when it comes to public transportation. Your one option is Skybus, which is a bus service that runs 24 hours a day to Melbourne and to area hotels. A one way ticket costs $15 (Australian dollars) and $24 for a return trip to the airport. The Skybus stops in front of T1 and T3. Please see their website for more information: Skybus
Airport Shuttles
Several airport shuttle services are available to you at the Melbourne Airport with most stops located on the ground level in front of T2. These shuttles function more like regular buses, with set stopping points along their route, so you will want to check which shuttle service stops at or near your destination. Limousine Services
If you're looking for a more luxurious ride to and from the airport, there are many VIP or limousine services that go to and from the airport. As with any other limousine service, you'll pay a fixed rate, be greeted at the airport by your driver and taken directly to wherever you wish to go.
Taxi Services
Taxis are located outside on the ground level of T1, T2 and T3. Though convenient, the fee for the trip into Melbourne can be expensive. You may want to compare rates and routes with the Skybus service before grabbing a taxi.
