THE LOCATION Severin Sea Lodge is located directly on the shores of the Indian Ocean on Bamburi Beach, approximately 12 kilometers from Mombasa Town and 20 kilometers from Moi International Airport. Mombasa is the second largest city of Kenya and is famous for the Portuguese fortress Fort Jesus, guarding the Old Port and Old Town. The hotel is nestled under palm trees with plenty of space to relax. For the last 35 years Severin Sea Lodge has been renowned for it’s hospitality to its regular guests, who enjoy the excellent cuisine and the friendly and considerate service. The hotel was awarded by TÜV Rhineland in Germany, an internationally well-known certification company, for its first class service. GUEST ROOMS AND SUITES Severin Sea Lodge has 190 hotel rooms that are designed in a traditional Swahili style. Karibu Class / Standard rooms located in the main building (20 rooms) All rooms with twin beds, mosquito net, shower, WC, individual air-conditioning, telephone, SEVERIN hair dryer, room safe, Wireless-LAN, lounge area, balcony or terrace. Karibu Class / Standard rooms located in Bungalows (44 rooms) Same facilities as in the main building. In addition, these rooms are equipped with a mini bar and offer king size beds. Comfort Class rooms located in bungalows (62 rooms) and main building (52 rooms) Rooms are furnished with handmade »Lamu« style furniture. All rooms with shower, WC, some with 2 wash basins, individual air-conditioning, mosquito net, some with additional ceiling fan, telephone, LCD flat screen with satellite TV, SEVERIN hair dryer, coffee/tea making facilities, room safe, mini bar, Wireless-LAN, lounge area, balcony or terrace, fruit basket on arrival. Suites Additionally with separated living area, kitchenette, bar lounge area, satellite TV, shower/bathtub, changing room, balcony and amazing sea view. GUEST SERVICES AND FACILITIES 24-hour reception with currency exchange. Major credit cards are accepted. The hotel lobby features a hospitality desk and is connected to a shopping arcade with souvenir shop, mini supermarket, jeweler, wood carving shop, hair dressing salon and hotel doctor clinic with daily consulting hours (except Sundays and public holidays). Two designated areas of the hotel show satellite television. Wireless-LAN is available in the Internet Café »Bush Drum« and in all rooms. Gelateria offers ice cream and pastries. »Makutano Conference Center« for up to 200 guests, Excursion- and Safari-Booking-Office, Taxi service available 24 hours, laundry and valet service, babysitter on request. RESTAURANTS AND BARS For us it is very important to offer our guests fresh and high quality food. Our vegetables, fruits and eggs come from our own biological farm, the Seba Farm, where no artificial fertilizers are used. The Kisima Restaurant with direct sea view serves buffet breakfast and set dinner menu in the evening with various themed buffet dinners. Kisima Pool Grill (seasonal) for casual lunch snacks around the pool. Flame Tree Bistro with Italian cuisine, specializing in pizza and pasta. Open for lunch and dinner, also serves late riser’s breakfast. IMANI Dhow Restaurant is an old stranded sailing dhow with award winning á la carte seafood and international cuisine. Open for dinner The Safari Bar with an amazing 360° bar counter: a lively meeting point for refreshments of your choice and pre dinner cocktails. The Swing Bar overlooks the beach and serves cocktails, fresh fruit smoothies and regular bar drinks. Open from 09.00 am to midnight. Johari Roof Terrace (seasonal) open for cozy sundowners and special events (open on request). Meal Plan offered - Bed & Breakfast and Half Board. Premium All Inclusive until 31.10.2010. SPORT, LEISURE AND ENTERTAINMENT Two swimming pools (one with Jacuzzi), comfortable pool beds with daily fresh towels, massage center in main building and massage parlors at the beach, billiard table, library, table tennis, Barracuda scuba diving & water sports centre, floodlit tennis court and a 18-hole golf course nearby. The hotel offers a weekly entertainment program. Volleyball and sport games, candlelight and gala dinners with International and African themes, varied after dinner entertainment which includes live music, acrobatic shows, fashion shows, Maasai warriors and traditional dance groups. THE ENVIRONMENT Severin_kenya complies with the principles of ecological tourism and has embarked on a multiple awarded active environment protection program. The hotel was the first to set up a biological waste water treatment plant and implemented solar energy in its infrastructure. A 120-point environmental conservation guide and the hotel owned Seba Farm which is further north along the coast, ensures that the ecological footprint is minimized. Severin Sea lodge was certified with two very well-known awards – the TUI Environmental Champion Award and the Travelife Gold Award.
