Bad pillows. Parking fee when plenty of parking around the hotel. Hotel is not within walking distance to any Monterey sites. Loud rooms near highway on ramp. Wouldn't stay here again.
Room was in a nice location. Checking in was easy and staff was helpful. I happy overall with my stay.
Beds were not comfortable nor the pillows. I thought there may be more discounts in regards to Monterey Bay aquarium in the Warf, but I was told Marriott does this not Hilton.
I really like the pool and the location of the Hilton Garden Inn Monterey, it’s was very easy to locate. The staff was very good, I actually asked for a late checkout time and a few other things and they were very willing to accommodate me. The room was clean and had almost everything I needed..
What I dislike: This really is not about dislike it’s more about the comparison of value based on price. Hilton Garden Inn Monterey (“HGIM”), is expensive and maybe too expensive for what you really get. I travel a lot for work and with my family. And basically I would compare the HGIM with high-end Hotels in the Napa Valley and Santa Barbara. One: I would say if you pay upwards over 250 a night, a water bottle (just one) in your room would be really nice, the breakfast buffet was really good but again if you’re paying $$$ it would be nice if it was included and it would probably create more buzz for the property. The bar was fine but seriously it’s just a bar. The other thing is and this is not exclusive to the HGIM, a lot of hotels have this issue the doors for each room when they close are so loud that if you’re trying to take a nap or just concentrate on work it’s very difficult. I found myself hanging out in the lobby to do work. The room itself was not bad two queen beds they were very comfortable, the mini-fridge was loud, the TV was fine, the bathroom, was poorly designed the door scarcely had a enough room to open without hitting the toilet the detail work in the bathroom was not done well and the wardrobe it’s a wardrobe. I know I’m being critical in this statement but it’s because I hold the Hilton brand at a high value, because it asks for a high value for the dollars you pay.
The lady at the front desk when I checked in was very pleasant.
Too much money for the room, which was not all that. I've stayed at other hotels where i don't pay that much money and i get a free breakfast, nicer room. DOn't think i will stay there again when visiting Monterey.
Pool excellent staff very helpful.
Residents bar closed 9pm very early if you are returning from dinner and would like to extend your everning.
the hotel looked nice from the outside.
hard bed, bad room location next to stairwell, lost reservation, tv remote did not work properly, poor water pressure.
Good hotel, spacious rooms, located close to Fisherman's Wharf and the Monterey Aquarium. Easy access to the freeways. Value for money.
