Both the desk clerk and the breakfast attendant were excellent. There had been a mistake and the room we had paid extra for had not been given to us. The desk clerk rearranged things so that we got what we paid for.
We reserved two rooms: one for a couple and the second for three people. The reservation was ignored and we were given the wrong room. This was corrected, but the second room was effectively in a seperate building making it hard to get to the kidsThe hotel is charming and very near McGill. There is a crunch at breakfast and it is hard to get a second cup of coffee despite the use of a bodum french press pot per table, i.e. if you are five at table there is not enough to go round.

The room features, every detail considered in its design and comfort; the breafast area and food (free and in a beautiful garden)!!; the pool on the top floor; the attentive personnal; special small gifts with turn down service; free Wi-Fi
It was 100% perfect--no possible improvements quite honestly. It was recently completely renovated. This was one of the best hotel experiences in a lifetime of travelling. The bedroom wasn't large, but absolutely every detail in it's design made it top notch. It's also soundproof. In four nights, even with a fully occupied floor, I NEVER awoke to any noise whatsoever.
Amazing experience. Facilities were first class, and the staff couldn't do enough for us.
Only wish there was an on site spa. However the concierge arranged am appointment for me at a nearby spa.

Comfortable rooms, good location; even though on a busy street, traffic noise wasn't an issue
Staff make extra effort to ensure you are satisfiedTotally deserving of 4 1/2 stars. Top notch hotel and I would not hesitate to stay there again, especially for what we paid. Wish I had booked an additional night.

A very pleasant and helpful clerk at our time of checkout. She was in a wheelchair but a delightful, helpful person who is one of the nicest we have met in all our years do traveling to Montreal. It's too bad she wasn't there when we checked in. That person was just the opposite. The gentleman retrieving our car upon leaving was very helpful too.
The hotel is nothing like the pictures it promotes. Our room was small and older which may explain why there was only one elevator servicing 19 floors. You could not set temperature. It would get so cold I shut off the fan pushing the cold air into the room. For the price we paid a hundred dollars more would of paid for a first class hotel like the Queen Elizabeth. There also seemed to be two sides. I believe my side needed work while the other side may be the one that's reflected in all those hotel pictures. Another reason I didn't like the person who assigned us the room. She was difficult to work with.
Valet had an attitude. Apparently a 10% tip is not enough!

Great location. Clean. Nice staff
Had to pay $17.75 for bedding for the sofa bed
This hotel's location was perfect, it is situated right in the middle of Downtown Montreal and right across the street from McGill University
Upon check in, one of the receptionists blatantly ignored us and serviced the party behind us and when I approached her she said I would have to wait for the gentleman next to her. The parking is pretty pricey per night and Wifi is not included. The bathroom could use some major remodeling.

The character of the rooms and common areas as well as the location.
Our room only has a small double bed, not even a queen. There was certainly room for a queen in our room.Other than the size of the bed and perhaps the distance to where the public parking ($20/ night) was, this hotel was great. Quant rooms, great location and very nice complimentary breakfast.
Very quaint. Very welcoming, helpful staff
The rooms are extremely small

Noise in the middle of the night. People partying next door and knocking at my door. I called front desk with no success. Never again.
The location is great. It's within walking distance to downtown shopping, metro and undergroud city.
The hotel is undergoing construction, but we didn't know before we arrived. We couldn't sleep since 4am in the morning! It was a long night. We couldn't sleep since 4am in the morning due to the construction noise! It was a long night. If you want to stay at this hotel, call to make sure the construction has ended. I can see that it would be pretty quiet if there is no construction, as it locates on a pretty quiet street. The bathroom was very nice but the air in the room is stale and you can't open the window. Location was good.
Would not provide a cot for room so I had to sleep on floor.
Good location. Very helpful staff. Large rooms that look out over the city.

Location...near St. Catherine Street, which was having a street fair and other parts of town. (Though a longer walk to the waterfront than was expected.) Beds were comfortable. Price was reasonable.
The room was not well maintained. The sink leaked a puddle onto the floor whenever run and the tub didn't drain well. Told management about both but never fixed. Room darkening curtains didn't close fully so too bright. Complimentary breakfast sub-par.Hotel staff also not particularly friendly, which was challenging when vacationing in a foreign country. No apologies for the issues with my room. Also, they did give minimal assistance regarding questions about Montreal, but were not warm or receptive. I only asked the bare minimum questions.
LOCATION IS VERY GOOD (IN DOWNTOWN OF MONTREAL). GOOD CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST.
