Prices are average price per night of stay and may not include taxes and fees. "Total" includes our estimate of the taxes and fees. Please verify the total cost on the provider's site before you complete your reservation. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car hires can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.

More questions or if you have a bad price to report to us
Please send us an email and someone from our team will get back to you promptly.

Munich

Book a hotel in Munich, the capital of Bavaria, and enjoy the beauty of the Alps or the energy of Oktoberfest.

Things to do in Munich

The biggest drawcard for tourists to Munich is of course Oktoberfest. Lasting 16 days from the end of September to the first weekend in October, this festival of funfair rides, Bavarian food and fine beers attracts 6 million visitors a year, and is not to be missed. That being said, there is a lot more to Munich than a beer festival. Take a stroll through the beautiful English Gardens, one of the largest urban green spaces in the world. Here you will find surprises ranging from a traditional Japanese teahouse to an artificial stream, the Eisbach, which comes complete with an artificial wave and surfers. Four of Munich’s 20 major beer gardens are also found in the English Gardens. Fans of automobile history will appreciate that Munich is the home of BMW, and motor enthusiasts can visit the company museum, and take a factory tour. Keeping with the museum theme, Munich is home to a number of them, including the Deutsches Museum, one of the oldest science museums in the world.

Munich’s Sporting Legacy

Munich played host to the 1972 Olympic Games, and the Olympic park and village remain an important cultural hub today. Ascend the impressive Olympic Tower for a great view of the park and all of Munich. The Olympic Mountain, Olympic Stadium and Olympic Lake are all still there, and a great flea market takes place every Friday and Saturday. The Olympic village is now a mix of residential and student accommodation, and the student section is certainly worth an explore. Each tenant lives in a small stand alone house, which they are encouraged to paint. This has created a vibrant mix of colours, patterns, murals and street art. Munich is also home to Bayern Munich FC, and football fans will enjoy a guided tour of their mighty Allianz Arena stadium.

Getting around in Munich

Most travellers to Munich will arrive at Franz Josef Strauss International Airport. It is the 7th biggest airport in Europe, and the 2nd largest in Germany, servicing 34 million passengers each year. From there it is a short train ride to the city centre. In terms of public transport, Munich has one of the cleanest, well connected and punctual systems in the world, incorporating trains, buses and trams. The tramway has been operational since 1876. The extensive public transport provision has allowed the pedestrianisation of the city centre, making Munich an ideal city to explore on foot or by bike.
