If traveling to Myrtle Beach for the first time, avoid nighttime cruising down the main strip between March 1st and October 1st. During the summer and holiday season, the number of visitors to the oceanfront increases. To reduce the number of late night incidents, the Myrtle Beach Police Department keeps an open eye for any vehicles cruising the main strip from 2 A.M to 6 A.M. Cruising is not allowed between 3rd Avenue and 21st Avenue. The Police Department may issue a warning or ticket any vacationer caught cruising.
