The unusually named city of Nampa (taken from a Native American word for sage grass) started out as a railroad town, but today has emerged as the second largest city in Idaho, part of the thriving Boise metropolitan area. The city combined rural delights and urban charm as businesses and tourists flock to Nampa. From art galleries to wildlife reserves, and Snake River Dayz to fly fishing, this city of just over 78,000 has it all. As the gateway to many outdoor recreation areas as well as man-made attractions, Nampa is emerging as one of the hot spots of Idaho tourism.
