Stupid expensive for food, services and shopping.
The overall look and scenery of the hotel was great.
Room was less then clean. There were stains on the ceiling of the bathroom. Very understaffed and the vast majority of restaurants and shops in the hotel were closed. In fact, the staff that was there were completely unhelpful. When I asked the Valet to call me a taxi, they suggested I stand outside and wait to see if one comes but they hadn't seen one all day. I walked outside and saw that there were 3 cabs waiting.
The atriums were nice to look at but crowded, hot and food prices were way too high.
We paid hundreds to stay including a resort fee through kayak. Then they charged us the resort fee there too. Not to mention they had the audacity to charge us to park, we had to walk really far to a bus, wait for the whole bus to load and drive us 15 min to the hotel where we had to walk thriugh two EMPTY parking lots and around the hotel to get to registration. The room was about what you'd see anywhere (other than the obstructed atrium view) The grout in shower was nasty & tiles are worn & cracked. There was some hunting convention going on and all we heard all day & night were duck calls. NEVER again. Save your hard earned money & stay somewhere relaxing and welcoming.

All the extras were overpriced for what you receive - I feel that for what you pay for the room these "ice extras and atrium boat ride" should be included. -Character breakfast-characters only come by your table 1 time and do not go from table to table and really interact with the kids like at Disney-so it was just a really overpriced buffet -Ice Special - pretty small slides and rink - so it was ok - should be included at no extra charge as part of the resort fee Indoor pool - very inconvenient location (long walk to get there from Magnolia area) and only open until 10 on weekend But the worst part was that we had 4 rooms and we were all trying to check out at the same time so my brother got a luggage cart on his own. The bellman was fussing at my mom who was in the hall in a wheelchair next to the cart for getting the cart (apparently getting your own luggage cart is a big NO NO). I'm sorry but to fuss at an old lady in a wheelchair for taking a cart was a little ridiculous - not even physically possible for her. Then when trying to return the wheelchair that we rented from the hotel, the Magnolia Lobby employees said we had to bring it ALL THE WAY back to the main front Lobby. WOW!!!! AND... Check your final bill. They were trying to overcharge us on the $28/per day parking fee with 2 extra parking charges.

Some suprizing charges, when I booked through hotels.com I didn't realize there was a extra resort fee that would be charged after I checked in the only reason I knew about it was because a lady was at the desk complaining about it a when I registered.
The Gaylord Opryland Resort is more of a destination hotel. There is so much to do and see and the staff is awesome!
The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable and lacking support. They definitely are in need of an upgrade.

The room had an odor of vomit. Our 9 year old son noticed the smell as soon as we walked in the room. We eventually became used to the smell after spraying freshener into the air
