Pros:I liked the location of the hotel and the Italian Buffet. Housekeeping and Maintenance were very friendly and helpful.
Cons:The hotel is old and needs work...there was glass out of window of building out back. Cracks in the ceilings, dressers needed to be sanded, stained and polyurethaned. Carpet needed to be cleaned. There was no refrigerators in the rooms, one of our rooms had a microwave the other one didn't. The pillows and mattress' and bedding were awful. The shower was tiny. Zero storage or countertop space in the bathroom with pedestal sink and even the toilet didn't have a tank to put toiletries which made it impossible to do hair and make-up.During our stay I went to the front desk to find a sign stating be back in a few minutes which was longer than a few minutes and only very young adults running the front desk. I worked at a hotel and you should never leave your front desk/lobby unattended...ever!

Pros:The outside was beautiful when driving in at night.
Cons:This hotel was nothing like what was described or pictured. First , the staircase to the second floor was rusty and shook when we stepped on it and there were NO lights and we arrived very late in the dark. Second, we couldn't get the ac to work. Upon calling the desk we were told to turn it down to 60 to 55 to get it to work which did work but really? The mattresses lacked support and squeaked every time someone turned over and were covered with what appeared to be very old blankets. The next morning the staff knocked on the door and entered, once at nine then again in 15 minutes, knocked on the door to tell us check out was at 11am both times?! When we could actually see every thing it was just unbelievable. Wallpaper peeling around edges, paint chipping around trim boards, chipped and scratched chest of drawers, dirt in the corners of the bathroom AND roach droppings around the sides, exposed carpet tacks when I stepped on. It really was an unbelievable experience. I have photos to back all this up as well. My mistake for considering historical for any type of style.

Pros:I was surprised by the extra friendly service. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is very spacious. With the pleasant service it was a relaxing atmosphere. I would go there again.
Cons:We arrived late and could not get a late checkout.

Pros:Most staff Great, but one .. Rhonda. Breakfast service was excellent History, style and basic charm fine Location an asset for us; our usual bnb closed so we tried Rate was great via Kayak and perfect value for room and service
Cons:Confused and poorly trained lobby person - Rhonda; fumbled with checkin process; slow and slower; rude Tried to add a room for sister in law; not allowed so 2x $; no exceptions per manager; must buy added room on line or pay more than double??? Second room latch broken; smoke detector hanging down; and heating unit vibrating needed tightening to quiet noise!

Pros:Outside and grounds were kept nice.
Cons:Room was broken into, but they gave us an upgraded room for the next night. Our original room had a small bathroom and only two towels. Couldn't get room service to give us new ones the next two days, I had to go get them off the cart.

Pros:We enjoyed the beautiful vistas of the mountains. The hotel provides cover areas just to sit, relax and take it to natural beauty. The building has a very historical almost presidential appearance. It provides direct access to Natural Bridge tickets and gift Center. The hotel provides both a room with interior access or a room with exterior access from a terrace. Our wing of rooms had large windows on both front and back walls to provide plenty of light and exterior views. Staff both at check in and during meal time were fabulous and very pleasant.
Cons:Our exterior entrance room furnishing seemed a little dated with a very small bathroom. It had no counter space with a 2x2 shower stall. However, they did provide a very nice dresser and TV.

Pros:The Hotel itself looks wonderful. It is a very pretty hotel.
Cons:We booked our room thru kayak.com as a king bed and not in the cottages because we heard bad thing about their cottages. We go to check in and guess where they stick us, in the cottages which wasn't even a king bed. My husband so mad. We walked into the cottage which was so small and looked so nasty and outdated and only has two double beds. We went back to the hotel and told them this is not the room we booked. For one the bed size is wrong and for two, we paid more than what these cottages cost. We asked for our money back and left. I will never stay their again. They should have never tired to put us in a room that was clearly not what we paid for.
