Neuquen is the capital of the Argentine province of Neuquen and an important argicultural center surrounded by fertile lands that are irrigated by the waters of the Neuquen and Limay rivers. The largest city in Patagonia, the main tourist draw is the outdoor activities, an art museum and a small dinosaur museum where some spectacular finds have been unearthed. However, if one is an outdoors person, the beautiful volcanos in the area provide lots to do including winter sports like alpine and nordic skiing, horseback riding, fishing, and hiking. There are also a few wineries that can be toured for those who want to check out the local vintages.
