National Geographic has recommended that tourists explore the neighborhoods of New Orleans. Most tourists do not have an opportunity because so few are available to tourists.Audubon Park House is in the Uptown neighborhood of New Orleans where Victorian homes are cherished. This B&B offers the tourist a very unique place to stay in a very unique part of the city. Just recently National Geographic filmed the lagoon located minutes away which is a sanctuary filled with the sounds of wild birds, wild ducks, ibises, egrets, and herons. A streetcar runs at the head of the park which enables tourists to visit the historical French Quarter. At the foot of the park is the Audubon Zoo and at it's back runs the mighty Mississippi River. A swamp exhibit in the zoo captures the true nature of New Orleans before it was established as an urban center.One can experience the history of the city through the eyes of owner Barbara Lefevre Martin, who was born down River on land which was once part of a plantation where the British battled for the control of Louisiana in 1812. She will be happy to share her history with her guests.
