The Game of Thrones television series was filmed in County Down and in the areas around the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa, so fans of the show can visit iconic locations where exciting scenes were filmed. A number of packages are available that include private excursions to Winterfell and a special Game of Thrones afternoon tea, with a selection of finger sandwiches and pastries inspired by the show’s characters. Other packages include a Westeros Tomahawk steak dinner at Percy French, and a Hastings Duck of Thrones to take home.

Guests can check-in at the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa from 3:00 pm. If you are arriving earlier, you can use the spa facilities from noon until your room is ready. A modern fitness studio is located on the ground level of the spa, as well as a swimming pool, steam room, sauna, and drench showers. Fitness classes are held in the Zen Studio on a daily basis, including tai chi, yoga, and Pilates. If you want to work up a sweat, sign up for the spin, HIIT, cardio blast, boxfit, or circuit training classes, which are held on a regular basis. Workouts in the pool such as aqua aerobics, aqua Zumba, and adult swim classes are also available.
