The Empire Hotel Backpackers is a restored Victorian hotel, built in 1867. We are 70 metres from the I Site in the heart of Historic Oamaru. Walk out our front door along streets of Victorian Buildings to walkways, beautiful Public Gardens, Cheese Factory (with delish Cheese cake), galleries, beaches and much more. We are surrounded by restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and close to a supermarket.
Walk10 minutes to our famous Little Blue Penguins. Often they walk to us.
