The Thurston House Inn consists of two Cedar shake buildings. The original building was the home of Captain Thurston Gaskill. It was built in 1925 and restored by Captain Thurstons granddaughter, Marlene Mathews and her husband Randal. Restoration was completed in July of 1996 and a new addition was completed in May of 1999. The Inn consists of 9 rooms all with private baths, tv and heat/ac in each room. A phone for local/credit card calls. All rooms have queen or king size beds and will accommodate 2 people. The original house has beaded board and heart pine floors. The Thurston House was once characterized as an Island home built with heart pine wood on oyster shell footings and is listed on the National Register of Historic places. Common areas consist of front & back porches. Marlene and Randal are now traveling the world and Marlene's sister Donna is now running the inn along with her mother Annie who was born in the house. Donna welcomes you to her home.
