Location. Not much to choose from in Greenfield.

I prefer a newer hotel but this one was livable for one night. I wasn't expecting much but it did meet my expectations for the star level.

Reception staff very helpful, good location next to Mexican restaurant and a small shopping area. Surrounded by vineyards, but close to Interstate, but there was no road noise in our room. Breakfast was a bit basic, but fresh fruit was good. Hotel is an older property but swimming pool looked lovely!

Other than the room smelling funny and needing a serious update, there really weren't too many complaints to be had. Bed was comfy, linens were soft, decent (safe) location, and hotel staff left us alone the entire time. Would I stay there again? Eh, maybe. Not the worst, definitely not the best.  But it was cheap and close to our destination. There are at least some decent food places in Salinas. And it's only twenty or so minutes from Monterey/Carmel, an hour from Santa Cruz.

Close to Lagua Seca Raceway. But not the high prices you will pay in Monterey. Like most chain motels in Salinas they are situated close to the 101 freeway. So some truck noise is to be expected

I stayed here this past weekend and had a very unpleasant experience with the manager. I saw a bunch of hairs in the bath tub and reported it to the front desk. Immediately, the woman who worked there denied that I saw hairs and refused to be of any assistance. I gave up and we finished our conversation. A couple of minutes later, there was a knock at the door. I was a little scared by this seeing as to how it was almost midnight. It was the manager himself who wanted to come in and take a look to see if there was hair in the tub. My boyfriend and I let him in and once he looked, he immediately acted like he didn't see any hair. My boyfriend specifically pointed out each hair to him, and he responded by saying they were scratches, not hair. At this point, he was saying something like 'get out, get out, you're going to have to move to another room'. I sensed that he was getting angry so rather than have this situation escalate, my boyfriend and I offered to clean the bath tub ourselves ...

Among the better of the reasonably priced motels I've encountered. Rooms are good size and being up-dated. Breakfast was minimal but adequate. I'd definately stay here again on my trips between southern and northern California.

Because of our trip over Highway 1 from Santa Barbara to San Francisco we incidentally reserved one night stay at Bernardus Lodge. We would have loved to stay much longer since Bernardus Lodge is a place for people who like to be spoiled. Incredible setting and service. A great compliment to the staff and all servants.

The service and food was incredible! The room and bath was so nice, we didn't want to leave. They hotel staff has thought of everything. An effortless and relaxing place to stay. An idyllic lodge in a vineyard. So glad I didn't have to look at ANOTHER golf course! I would definitley go back!

My husband and I just visited Ventana Inn for the second time for our 10 year wedding anniversary! It had been about 7 years since we stayed there last and it was BETTER than we even remembered. This is definitely our kind of place - beautiful, relaxing, peaceful, and private - all while enjoying 'rustic' luxury accomodations. Complimentary touches such as the wine and cheese hour and breakfast makes the room cost not seem so bad. And the restaurant on the property served the best dinner we've had in a long time. Can't think of one little complaint during out stay and we only wish we had stayed longer. We'll definitely be returning!

Nothing

Dirty, poor parking, noisy, lack of security, broken lock, no amenities, lousy breakfast, few towels, I could go on and on!

It was scary and awful. Neither my wife nor I ever really relaxed and felt safe.

Price was reasonable. It was near a 7-11 and gas station and also close to the main highway. It has a refrigerator and microwave and free internet.

The access to the room was very difficult. Seems there is only two staircases and we were in the middle. The room also had an odor, mold I think or I hope.

Overall a good place to sleep, wake up and get out.

Location, location, location, The river outback was the highlight. It was also nice to roast marshmellows by the fire.

No tv, dim lighting

It is right next to the highway. There is a pool, general store, gift shop, small gallery, resteraunt, gas station all on the premises.

The staff was helpful and it was close to everything I needed e.g., groceries, fuel, place to eat. It was also close to places I wanted to visit.

Internet was sporatic and I killed two spiders, including one small one that crawled out from under my pillow.

I had a room on the side of highway one that was not close to the river. I crossed highway one each time I needed to go to the office, grocery store, or restaurant. I was on my own so it wasn't a problem, but if I had small children I would not have wanted to stay on that side. The people were friendly and helpful. It was close to a lot of places to visit in Big Sur.

Very clean and quite! Nice indoor pool and spa. we were very worried when we pulled up because it is right next to the freeway - pleasantly surprised that you couldn't hear the freeway at all. Morning breakfast was very nice. A ton to choose from. The staff was always checking to make sure all items were fresh and fully stocked. A bit far from Monterey - it took us about 30 minutes to get there but it worked well for us.

Staff was very friendly, breakfast was good. We were upgraded to a suite, which was very nice. Other guests were very friendly at breakfast.

The train tracks were very close and could be heard in the room easily.

We stayed just one night, but many of the guest stay there for extended visits to esape the cold weather up north and have been going there for years. They really enjoyed the pool and the warm weather as well as all the nice people there.

The room was fine - nice and clean. It was very quiet.

The check-in experience was horrible. (see details in review below) The continental breakfast was quite lacking.

This is the only time I have ever had a bad experience checking in with a priceline purchased hotel. The desk clerk kept telling me to 'cancel' my online reservation and go directly through him (at an increase in price of $34) or he would put me in a horribly smelly smoking room used by a man who was a multiple pack a day smoker who had only left that morning. He kept saying that he had many non-smoking rooms, but he would only give me one of them if I paid him directly his non-discounted price. He also kept telling me that I had obviously paid more going through an on-line system and I was stupid. I felt like I was in a bad movie or was in the middle of a nightmare that wouldn't end.

Prices are average price per night of stay and may not include taxes and fees. "Total" includes our estimate of the taxes and fees. Please verify the total cost on the provider's site before you complete your reservation. Prices and availability are not guaranteed.

Here's why:

We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.

We aggregate tonnes of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.

Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car hires can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.

More questions or if you have a bad price to report to us
