staff friendly service good
The hotel was very noisy with guests talking in the corridor, children playing in the corridor outside the room at midnight, furniture being moved in the room above. Also, the whole hotel was very very warm! Maybe not necessary to have a fire going when although the weather is a bit dreary, the temperature outside is not cold!
restaurant was excellent; staff were very helpful and friendly
The very homely atmosphere togther with friendly staff, excellent food, extremely comfortable surroundings and lovely location.... the stairs....sqeeky floorboards...but not a problem
I always stay at this hotel when in Ireland because it is clean friendly welcoming scenic and fun. The breakfast is fantastic and the owner and staff are too
Great quiet location right off a nice beach, rooms may face to ocean. Great breakfast(included) and meal options. Bar onsite was nice and relaxing. Ample parking. My room was quite drafty when the ocean winds blew hard... no so bad though. WIFI only available in lobby.
quiet and calm room rate was overrated as a standard of very cold in the room no heating, no all the dishes from the menu, good staff
Breakfast excellent, warm welcoming staff Showers could be better i.e. water flow/spray
I am answering this in relation to three bookings I made with you. The three bookings in Question are last four digits1575' 1o84 and 3661. Due to ill health not all of us were able to stay here but those of us who did were very pleased with the services the hotel provided and their breakfast was excellent - cooked to perfection. I would rec. this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the area. We were all quite pleased.
The homely atmosphere in the hotel and all staff were very helpful and approachable. None
It's a warm, comfortable hotel with a nice ambience. Our electronic room key did not work. It was reissued but still did not open the door. Not a great first impression of the hotel. The facilities for dining are much too small when the hotel is busy. We couldn't get a table in the bar or dining room to have dinner, and nobody had advised us earlier that it might be a good idea to book a table. We had to leave the hotel and go elsewhere to dine.
The buliding was very impressive in a beautiful location. Fantastic hotel for a luxury treat.
Nicely finished room. Setting was nice. Tailored more towards Golf than regular guests
I really appreciated the warm, welcoming & attentive staff. The hotel is beautifully designed & in a superb location..We are not golfing people but had bracing walks on beach& enjoyed the blazing fire on our return. the air conditioning was a little annoying during the night but the staff were happy to assist.
ease of access to golf course, and availability of a good (not great) restaurant on-site poor temp control in room, door was difficult to open..does not fit prperly, aand in case of fire it would potentially be v.dangerous.Also the golf service was expensive and quite deplorable;it took 5.5 hours for 2 of us to play at $250 pp,yet no marshalling, and on our return to the club they were very dismissive of our complaint. Not a good experience at a "high end" course
Accomodation and facilities first class Food quality and lack of a nice bar to have a drink a major drawback given price and otherwise high standards
The staff were extremely helpful and professional. The hotel is located right beside the beach so we were able to go for lovely walks and blow away the cobwebs! Our accomodation was located away from the main hotel - there was no mention of this fact in the description of the rooms on this website.
Out of this world. I will return. Great value for money too, surprisingly.
The comfort of the rooms and in particular the bed and bathroom. The food was also very good. Having to move out of the hotel to go to the links cottages and marquee.
Absolute bliss, treated like royality.
You can sleep like a baby in a wonderfull bed, eat like a queen....full irish breakfast and perhaps warm scones and coffee. And after if you dont like golfing you can walk on the wonderfull beach or visit Cliffs of Moher. The hotel has also a shop with everything from books to clothing. The most beautifull place i have visit in my life! Dinner in the Long Room could have been more creative and taste better.
lovely staff,great location,very good value!!!!!
The staff were very obliging, they provided breakfast for us even though we were leaving at 6 in the morning
Staff were fantastic. So friendly and helpful throughout. Really was blown away by the service. Radiator in bathroom didn't work so was quite cold when showering etc.
Attended a Wedding and everything was to perfection, Snacks, Meal and service. Staff on check out very good Had been allocated one of the new rooms and on arrival was given a different room with out explanation the Staff on arrival not very friendly. Room had no Globes over bed, was mentioned to staff, explained in the morning that the rooms had just been refurbished and maintenance was waiting for globes ande fittings.
No nearby pubs/restaurants within walking distance
The nice room and the view from it. Also, the breakfast in the morning was nice. Not really, but there was a small bit of confusion at check out. For some reason, the desk staff thought the room had already been paid for. I didn't think I had pre-paid and so I paid at check out. It did make me wonder whether I had double paid though.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Watching the wild sea while having breakfast was brilliant.
a lovely location with fantastic views of the sea as it situated on top of a cliff looking over the ocean. A warm feeling when you enter the hotel, friendly staff and lovely food. No complaints!!!
Staff was excellent and it was extremely clean! Location was amazing, I'd go back in a heartbeat!
Very friendly and efficient staff Shower was cold
Clean facilities. Beautiful views NO WIFI FOR ROOMS. Only available in main lobby. Not very convenient for international travelers. No one at reception. The staff seemed to be spread very thin. The receptionist is also the concierge, bartender and server. Bed was very hard.
size and comfort of room
The hotel is new and very nicely furnished with new beds and spacious rooms, clean bathroom We booked a tripple room but they only had a double when we got there as we were a little late arriving
The receptionist was really friendly and very helpful on arrival. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel bar was very quiet.
Lovely clean modern hotel, friendly staff but a bit quiet. Not much atmosphere in bar maybe because of time of year. Quiet
Over all I really enjoyed my stay, the room - esp. for a "sole" traveller was really good. Its size was also a big plus for me, I was dreading a busy pub with a few rooms attached Breakfast on sunday was very good Tell the kitchen to take off the mashed peas from the salmon. My first room had no hot water and I had to push for another room - and I was staying two nights!! Reception staff did not have great local knowledge - I heard a family being recommended a walk along the cliff of Moher when they really wanted a beach for the children to run wild on.Breakfast on Saturday morning was not great
definately the innkeeper, Mary. she is wonderful! it is like staying with family!
Excellent all round - we loved our time there. Beautiful views, comfy beds, great breakfast. Thankyou Mary!
The personal and familiar atmosphere and a good breakfast. Would be great if there were glasses in the rooms and bathrooms.
The bed was amazingly comfortable with lovely sheets. Good service and communication prior to and during our stay. Very informative on the local area. Good location to the Cliffs of Moher and some pretty nice views (when it's not raining) Shower was a bit small
Very nice welcome from the family
Friendly welcome, tea served. The cleanliness, everywhere. Very comfortable.
It was very peaceful in a beautiful part of the country
we stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful stay. The White Family who run this B&B were so friendly and made our stay with our two young children a wonderful visit to this beautiful area of Ireland. Would stay again here when we return to Ireland. They went out of their way to make it a wonderful stay at their beautiful B&B.
Owners were friendly and the location to the Cliffs of Mohr excellent. The morning breakfast was plentiful and tasty. There was a security motion detector in the bedroom which lit up every time you turned over. It caused a bit of disturbance throughout the night.
Only spent one night there, but the hosts were amazing! Arrived very early and asked for a spot to leave our luggage. They were nice enough to let us go straight to our room! Just next to two great pubs and a few minute walk to shops and a few minutes more to the dock. Lovely town, easy to find, and great breakfast. Super nice staff...I could go on. Definitely going to visit them again! The only negative is that we only had one night there. Nothing bad to say about the place.
Brand new hotel only 4 years old with pubs and restaurant close by. Modern decore, new furniture, quiet room and comfortable beds. We had a restful nights sleep. Gus O'Connor's pub is 5 - 10 minute walk away (though you will need to bring along a flash light if you choose not to drive there after dusk) Free Wifi was only available in the hotel lounge and unreachable from our room 2 rooms away from the lounge. Not sure if this was because we stayed during the off peak season (November) when the hotel was mostly vacant.
Had a less than ideal stay at a hotel in Belfast the night before and gave it a bad rating. Here's what I wrote at the end of that review: "The next night I stayed at the hotel Doolin near Galway. Walked to my room, given a newspaper, asked if I needed a wake up call, given a free drink at the bar, breakfast included, plenty of parking, a beautiful clean modern lobby and a wonderful bed, all for less money. The contrast was remarkable..." Absolute pleasure to stay at Doolin. Nothing. Fantastic place.
Hospitality and friendliness of staff and lovely hotel.
There are several B&B nearby, but this offers a nice alternative. Connected to a restaurant and pub and with a nice lobby area, good alternative if the weather isn't good. Not quite walking distance to other pubs, but a very short drive on a very quite road, these are still good options.
Best hotel we stayed in Ireland. Staff were great, hotel clean and very well maintained.
The Hotel Doolin is a new and trendy hotel. It is fairly new and tries to use a green approach to doing things. Although its a fairly new property the hotel does have a few downsides. We had a problem the first night we stayed there with the shower drain. Basically it wouldn't drain. To make a long story short we switch rooms for our second night and when we got in there the sink wouldn't drain. This was a minor inconvenience. However my thought is this: With the hotel being fairly new I would think it would be better maintained. You can't exactly clean a sink or shower without running the water, so the cleaning staff should notice it and get it fixed before customers check in.
Very clean and central to the Burren Bit pricey
Amazing staff.Freindly and helpful, they really put you at your ease and made you feel at home
The hotel looked very bland from the outside and it was out of characterwith the traditional village surroundings. The interior, however was very classy and well designed and the room was large and elegant.
The location was perfect to visit such places as the cliffs of Mohar and the Burren.
the breakfast was tasty!!! no
from the greeting to departure a sense of quiet effeciency. room was little warm when heating came on.......but otherwise perfect.
This is a great B&B. I highly recommend it. Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was really lovely. Full Irish-- lots of fresh fruit, homemade scones, Irish bacon, eggs, and more. Best of all the coffee was strong. Great gardens. No.
The proprietor was very friendly and helpful and she helped us book a tour of the beautiful surrounding area with a local family. The house itself was beautiful- the best B&B we found in our travels through Ireland.
It was very comfortable and quite. Mrs. Sheedy went out of her way ,helping us plan our trip to the Aran Island.
Made very welcome by the owners. The food was the best I ever experianced in a hotel. Will stay again on next trip to West Clare.
The food was fantastic and we could not have eaten there every night very large portions Possibly menu could have been changed
Room service charg for breckfast $9 was a bit high
Massive nice room. Friendly staff. Lovely supper and breakfast.
beautifully appointed-fantastic food (locally sourced) lighting could be a bit better -by bedside
The hotel is lovely. The breakfasts were scrumptious. The owner was very available and helpful.
The lady proprietor was very welcoming. The food was excellent and the room a real surprise: large and comfortable.
Highly recommended. Have dinner here too, the food is a delight!
Quiet elegance, superb restaurant, welcoming owner.
We spent three nights in July 2010 and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Martina and John have a wonderful establishment. Our room was exceeding comfortable and clean. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and varied ( I want the pea soup recipe! ) The staff were friendly and very helpful. It was nice to relax by a peat fire at the end of a day of exploring Clare County. Not only would we recommend it to others but we anticipate returning for a longer stay. I can honestly say that in years of travels, I have never enjoyed a stay as much as this.
