Location is far outskirts of Sparks, in an industrial area next to a truckstop and a rinky-dink Casino. The old Best Western sign is roughly painted over. It's impossible to figure out who owns the damn place. Lobby has a tv screen with "America's Best Value Inn", second set of key cards (because first set stopped working) had "Wyndham" on them. Desk staff were barely functional. Maid was coughing and pretty obviously feverish. She most likely did have Covid-19 but she was, at least, wearing a mask. At our suggestion, she was sent home for the day. The manager had already been cleaning the rooms himself because she was so far behind. He did take the time to spray everything in our room with lysol. He probably did not take the time to do that to the other 14 rooms the coughing maid had cleaned. The basic space in our room was clean enough but the curved shower curtain rod was broken down and barely hanging on to the wall. there was a hastily-done wallboard compound repair of the ceiling in the bathroom - unpainted, of course. There was a sign at the front desk describing and energy saving feature that suggested that the AC and maybe the lights in the room would not work unless one of your room keys was inserted in this detector by the door. The AC was a little squirelly but I could not see that the detector-thingie made any difference. The panel that covers the AC controls had been broken off. The TV had a decent selection of 31 channels , including HBO and HBO2 but the resolution on all the channels was far, far WORSE than 720P. Images looked like ancient photographs that had been left in a bowl of milk for several weeks. The continental breakfast consisted of sliced bagels and individually plastic bagged muffins, tiny butter and jam packets, mediocre coffee and orange juice that was less tasty than Tang. Sad little toaster, as well. Pool was being resurfaced so not available. Elevator lobby filled with boxes. Elevator buttons seemed to work but did not light up. Everything was basically a confused, disorganized mess.
Worse hotel EVER!!! This place was disgusting. I want my MONEY back for the inconvenience. We checked in around 9:30pm and checked out at 3:00am because that’s how terrible it was. The bed sheets and blankets were stained/dirty, the toilet was dirty, the carpet was disgusting, the TV didn’t work. Why do you even have this place listed for rental? This place should be banned!
