Stillwater is a part of the twin cities metro area and located just across the St. Croix River from Wisconsin. In 1837 a treaty between the Ojibwa and Dakota nations and the U.S. government allowed settlers to make their home in the area, making it one of Minnesota's oldest towns. Visitors can find plenty to do from hot air balloon rides to lunch and dinner cruises aboard the Minnesota Zephyr and the Andiamo Showboat. There are also a couple of museums of interest like the Warden's House Museum and the HYPERLINK "http://www.discoverourtown.com/MN/local-67155.html" Stillwater Depot Logging and Rail Museum. During apple season, one might like to visit HYPERLINK "http://www.discoverourtown.com/MN/local-67181.html" Aamodt's Apple Farm for a look into cider making and a slice of pie, a pony ride and much more or visit Saint Croix Vineyards to check out the wine and explore the picturesque vineyards.
