Car Rental

The rental car companies available to you at Stockholm-Arlanda are Avis, Europcar and Hertz. They are all located in a specified car rental area that is between long-term lots Alpha and Beta. Free shuttles to the rental car area can be found at stop 19 outside of Terminals 2, 4 and 5. On off-peak hours, use the designated phones found in all terminals to call for the shuttle.

Public/Ground Transfer

Many forms of public transportation can get you to and from Stockholm, but your best bets are the high-speed train, Arlanda Express, or the airport bus, Flybussarna. The Arlanda Express has train stations under each of the terminals. It costs 200 SEK ($30) and the ride lasts about 20 minutes to Stockholm Central Station. Flybussarna is a longer ride at about 40 minutes, but a cheaper one, at 95 SEK. It goes to Stockholm's central bus station. There are also local trains and buses that you can take to either Stockholm or outlying areas, such as Uppsala.

Airport Shuttles

Another good alternative for getting to and from the airport is the Airport Shuttle. This shuttle service costs 150 SEK ($23) to get to your destination in Stockholm. Rides are often shared with other passengers, so they can last anywhere from 30 to 70 minutes due to the several stops. This is also a good choice for large groups. Limousine Services

If you're looking for a more luxurious ride to and from the airport, there are many limousine or executive car services. As with any other limousine service, you'll pay a fixed rate, be greeted at the airport by your driver and taken directly to wherever you wish to go.

Taxi Services

Taxi stands are located outside of Terminals 2, 4 and 5 and are separated by price, with the lowest rates closest to the terminal. You also have an "ecotaxi" option, which is a more environmentally-conscious vehicle. In Sweden, you can set a fixed rate with your driver before departing. The ride, depending on traffic, lasts 30 to 50 minutes.
