King Street, Thetford, Norfolk IP24 2AZThe Bell hotel in Thetford began its eventful life as a seminary but under Henry VIII's dissolution of the monasteries, it was sold as an inn in 1540 and renamed the Bell. The sense of history is enhanced at the Bell by the fact that the hotel retains much of its original character. The Tudor wall-paintings, discovered in 1938 can now been seen behind glass in one of the bedrooms. Due to the age of the building it has no ground floor rooms and no lifts.Hotel facilitiesReception deskRoom facilitiesDaily housekeepingEn-Suite BathroomCoffee/tea facilitiesTelephoneTelevisionRestaurantThe Bell Bar & Restaurant: The restaurant specialises in good simple English food.
