Watching aircraft as they descend towards the runways of either of St. Lucia's two airports, one almost naturally recalls the character Tattoo (played by Herve Villachaize) of the popular 70s television show "Fantasy Island" as he would shout at the beginning of each episode: Zee plane! Zee plane!
Perhaps visitors to St. Lucia will indeed live out their fantasies. This 27-mile-long by 14-mile-wide oval-shaped island is a place to inspire the imagination; its coasts showcase dramatic volcanic mountain peaks, and the entire island is cloaked with lush tropical vegetation and dotted with luxurious resorts. Visitors can do it all here when it comes to fun: relax in world class luxury, tour a tropical rainforest, visit a historical plantation house, snorkel or scuba dive in crystal clear Caribbean waters.
