Pros:The car was nice, the dropoff was easy.Cons:Had to wait two hours for an available car at pickup, with no place to sit at pickup point. Explanation for this was that a gold member had demanded a car, and they always receive priority. There were 20 people waiting with us. One man said he had been there three hours. Also, felt ripped off on the gas-tank charge. We were given the option to either fill the tank or be charged an extra $43 at drop off. We filled the tank, only to find out that thrifty charges you $36 regardless. So, we spent $20 to fill the tank for a savings of $7 on the total bill. Slimy.Reviewed 13 Apr 2021

Pros:Car ran fine was as representedCons:Drop off was a NIGHTMARE. Flew in to Houston Hobby, arrived about 4:45pm local time. Waited for a shuttle for 20+ min. Saw other car rental companies shuttles but not thrifty. Finally called. They said the location was CLOSED for the day! They close at 4pm on a Saturday!!! Had to uber twice and go back the next day to pick up the car. Very frustrating. As a suggestion maybe send the hours of the location and if there is an after hours drop/pick up available at time of booking???Reviewed 12 Apr 2021

Pros:My ENTIRE experience with Thrifty car rental was terrible. I had a reservation for my pickup time set for 1:00 pm and I didn’t receive my vehicle until 3:41 pm. My vehicle was NOT the vehicle that I reserved and my experience was a total disaster. The rental company was overwhelmed and they didn’t care about the customers at all. There was NO communication whatsoever regarding why there was a (2) two hour delay in receiving your vehicle. There was NO compensation or empathy at all.Cons:EVERYTHING....Reviewed 10 Mar 2021

Pros:All terrible.Cons:When renting from Thrifty, you will be shuttled over to Hertz. Its was one line for all customers. Waited over an hour for a car. Waited 20 minutes to exit the gate. Poor customer service.Reviewed 28 Feb 2021

Cons:After paying a rather high price on kayak for the car, I was charged double the price I paid at the counter. I have insurance myself thus have never purchased the insurance and this rep insisted I HAD to purchase the coverage. Paying over 400$ for small car was ridiculous.Reviewed 24 Nov 2020

Pros:There was nothing about the experience that was good. I was double charged and NO one could help me! I spoke with four different employees that told me I was overcharged but there wasn't anything that they could do about it.Cons:Customer ServiceReviewed 9 Nov 2020

Cons:Would have helped if we were provided with rental car. When we got to thrifty to pickup our reservation, it was closed down, the sign outside said to go across the street to hertz for pickup. We went across to Hertz and they said they don’t have any car available. What’s the point of having reservations. It would have been helpful if they had informed us earlier so we wouldn’t have to cancel our trip. When I called to get the refund they are refusing. Very disappointed. I don’t think I’ll ever use kayak or any third party for reservation ever again.Reviewed 8 Sept 2020
