Tombstone is the obstinate ghost town that refuses to go the way of so many other western relics, resurrecting itself daily for the sake of incoming travelers on the trail of memories and past famous and infamous acts. Best known for the 1881 shootout at the O.K. Corral between the Earps and the Clanton boys, Tombstone, a Historical American Landmark, recreates history and preserves other examples of the raw, rugged west of the past such as St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Crystal Palace Saloon. There are also reenactments that provide a glimpse of the past and entertain the crowds with rowdy actors and Wild West special effects.
