The location is not terrible, however it is quite a distance to Sqauw/Alpine compared to Tahoe City lodges. If you are going to Homewood that is about a 30-35 minute drive. Tahoe City lodges win for l

We used to stay at this hotel a few years ago when it was the Holiday Inn Express.It's now renamed Truckee Donner Lodge and is beautifully remodeled... more on Travelocity
