A private suite in a writer's contemporary home is available to the discriminating couple seeking a bed-and-breakfast experience beyond the ordinary. The suite has a private entry, a full bath with shower and a powder room. The bedroom is furnished with a classic Queen bed and mirrored dresser, while the parlor has a pullout sofa and a twin-sized sleigh bed. The suite opens onto a secluded meditation garden surrounded by pines, heather, sweet fern, Lilly of the Valley and a flowering Japanese cherry tree.
Tucked into a dune in Cape Cod's most tranquil town, the architect-designed house and the surrounding grounds are in themselves works of art. You will enjoy home-cooked breakfasts on a centuries-old Chinese dining table, in the company of numerous Inuit sculptures. Walls are hung with paintings by renowned Provincetown artists. Your parlor itself features a collection of antique and collectable dolls. The focal point of your meditation garden is a commissioned, floating-sphere fountain cast in concrete by a Wellfleet sculptor, who also created the distinctive Heaven's Gate sculpture near the entrance to the property. The tiered mahogany decks where you will want to barbecue and picnic look down on three cascading ponds -- linked by waterfalls and home to more than three dozen koi and exotic goldfish.
A five-minute walk takes you to a private Cape Cod Bay beach and community tennis court. Coolers, beach chairs and towels are yours to use. Because of the extensive art and sculpture collection, we cannot host children under the age of 12. We also cannot accommodate pets.
