Beech House was built in the 1860s using traditional Windermere stone. We are a small family run guest house run by Lewis and Maureen. The house is situated in a quiet area in the town of Windermere. Only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Where you can find a variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Also ideally situated for trains and buses. Lake Windermere is about a 20 30 minute walk from Beech House. Around and about, many activities can be enjoyed. Such as visits to homes and gardens, museums, craft centres and pleasure trips on the lake steamers from Bowness to lakeside and also Ambleside. There are three 18 hole golf courses within a short drive. Also walking and sailing can be enjoyed. Beatrix Potter's house (Hilltop) is a short distance away. Plus a Beatrix Potter exhibition is in Bowness.
