When you arrive, you ring the front door bell, sign in, and are handed your bedroom and front door key. After that the house is yours to come and go as you please. At Holmwood House, all the rooms are different, both in decoration and size, and all have their own bathroom or shower room. There are many extra touches in addition to color television, coffee and tea making facilities, radio-alarm clock, hairdryer and direct dial telephone. We also offer family suites for up to six people and air conditioning in some rooms. Breakfast is our specialty: we offer a choice of fruit juices, grapefruit segments and prunes, cereals, including our special muesli (full of fruit and nuts); followed by a wide selection, including full English breakfast, Craster kippers, fruit platter, vegetarian breakfast, hot croissants and toast. We do our best to meet special needs - vegan, celiac, diabetes etc - let us know your requirements. To help your digestion we will soothe you with gentle classical music. On the ground floor we have a comfortable sitting room in which to relax and browse amongst the books and information about York and the surrounding areas.By popular demand the hotel as a whole is non-smoking.
