Planning your Bonita Springs holidays

As the area's tropical climate means it is continually warm, Bonita Springs holidays can be enjoyed year round. Winter temperatures hover around 22 degrees, whilst summer is characterised by hot, humid days and temperatures in the low 30's. Summer is also the area's rainy season, and an afternoon of warm rain is not uncommon. Bonita Springs is serviced by the Southwest Florida International Airport, located 25 minutes north of downtown Bonita Springs. As public transport is scarce in Florida, it is recommended that visitors rent a car to get around, though taxis are also available. Bonita Springs is in the Eastern Time Zone (GMT-5).

Bonita Springs holidays: What to do

Many people come to Bonita Springs to enjoy its excellent and pristine beaches. In particular, Barefoot Beach is a must visit; a local favourite, the beach is home to a range of wildlife, including gopher tortoises and sea turtles, and makes for an excellent family day out. Couples looking for a romantic evening walk should visit the Little Hickory Beach Park, a peaceful beach which offers the best views of the sunset in the area. Away from the beach (but not far) is the Flamingo Island Flea Market, a market with hundreds of stalls, where visitors are able to buy food, beer and a whole range of items at low prices. The market is open Friday to Sunday and is a fun way to spend an afternoon.
