A great way to start on Neu-Isenburg holidays is take a wander around the historic centre. The town was originally founded by French protestants in 1699, and later established itself as a planned town during the 17th and 18th centuries. Take a look around the municipal museum, Haus zum Löwen, or House of Lions. Dating back to 1702, the museum was once a guesthouse, and today features fascinating information about the history of the town and the interesting characters who have called it home. The city gallery is located above the public office, and hosts changing exhibitions of interesting contemporary art.
The Hugenottenhalle is the centre of culture in Neu-Isenburg, hosting major rock concerts, established theatre and dance performances. Another fascinating museum is the Zeppelin Museum. Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin wowed the world in 1900 with his invention, and the turbulent history of the Zeppelin airship is presented in the Zeppelin Museum. In the evening, visitors can enjoy food at one of Neu-Isenburg's excellent restaurants.
