The Beach House is Puerto Rico's Beach Front Sanctuary of relaxation in the middle of the world's must exciting cities (currently under renovation & New Management). Located in Isla Verde Avenue only five minutes away from the International Airport and fifteen minutes away from the Historic Old San Juan.A small hotel nestled amid the towering condos of Isla Verde Avenue and almost forgotten; it now has a fresh new face and is ready to become the must-be-seen gathering place for San Juan's social set.The Beach House, once hidden from view next to the old Knights of Columbus house, is now stands out with a bright renovation recently completed; formed to revive dormant hotels, dressing them up and introducing the remodeled properties as elegant boutique hotels. At the Beach House, the exterior attracts passers-by with its sophisticated Mediterranean clean white colors and palm trees. Inside, lobby, guest rooms and baths have been made over from every detail, including the installation of new bed headboards and modern chic furnishings. The comfort of overnight guests comes first at The Beach House, but their prides are two new restaurants on the property, the beachfront Cafe la Plage and the indoor "La Follie". La Follie ** (restaurant will soon be open) ** named for it's red interior that evokes Maxim in Paris, offer French-inspired cuisine from the hands of Chef David Chaymol. Born in Lyon, Chef David learned authentic French cooking from several great chefs in France and Switzerland. He later worked on cruise ships and private yachts of the rich, ran a popular restaurant in St. Martin, then came to Puerto Rico in 2000 to open the famed Bistro de Paris in Miramar, now an Award-winning, filled to capacity replica of Paris in Puerto Rico. In La Folie, entertainment comes with the wining and dining. Open from 6:30pm until 11:00pm. Bar Rouge **(WILL OPEN SOON)** is a cozy spot upholstered in red and outfitted with a stage for jazz groups, chamber players, opera singers, even stand-up comedy acts. Chef David has created prix fix and degustation supper menus consisting of French-Asian fusion cuisine, accompanied by wines selected by Master Sommelier Emmanuel Kemiji.The Beach House faces a wide, clean beach in front of the Atlantic Ocean. The Cafe's open-air bar and terrace attract beach-strollers who catch the spirit of its lively, people-watching scene similar to the sunny cafes on the shores of St. Tropez, Nice, Cannes and Santorini. Open from 11:30am to 4:00am. Cafe la Plage welcomes private parties, by reservation, to enjoy its beachfront "lounges," palm-shaded alcoves that seat twelve for lunch, dinner, bar service. The Cafe has a Beach Club that offers lounge chairs, towels, use of private "beds, and therapeutic massages (by reservation) on the beach. Sun tanning attendants (the latest indulgence!) arrive by request not only with lotion; they'll also cool off the sun's rays with cold drinks, baskets of freshly-cut fruit, gelato and sorbets. A DJ keeps the music spinning from afternoon until night. On weekends, beach volleyball tournaments kick off the action, and at night, the Cafe grows dark as a movie screen goes up to show prize-winning Indy features.
