The service was out standing and we were upgraded to a room with a pool. Keep in mind this was in October and the weather was changing and it is a slow time of the year. We ate at the blue door, an outdoor café on the beach and the food was out standing. There breakfast buffet was out standing from Champaign to custom omelets. We also took a short walk to the next town, Plaka, for dinner and it was excellent and right on the beach also.
The staff were extremely friendly and polite and the room was fantastic Only that our plunge pool was too cold to use
quait situation, view and location big diferens beetwin prises on food in hotel and outside
Very quiet and relaxing atmosphere with extremely attentive staff.
The location is exquisite with luxury and relaxation on tap. The beach is very private with swimming and watersports readily available
The staff were friendly, safety, the Italian restaurant was exellent. The location of the hotel is a little isolated, to go to the nearst town takes about 10 menutes by car. So,it is not convinient for those who like to go out. Also the concierge service is not accurate.
Excellent place ! Much better than Elounda best hotels. Staff very helpful and kind. Very good cuisine. Beautiful design, quality facilities. Despite size of ca 250 rooms you feel like in a boutique hotel. Worth to come. Spa is rather dull: not to this hotel standard and undesftaffed.
we like location & beach, sea was on 5 *, massages & stuff in spa was good as well. Service very poor, nobody on arrival told us about brackfast area, or even facilities... lift to beach & restaraunts was terrible (hot without conditioner) and there is no other way... Spa was quite old & threadbare not for 5* hotel..
Mostly the location. They misrepresent the type and standard of the rooms for expample we reserved a bungalo. But what they call a bungalo is simply an ordinary double room and that we absolutely did not appreciate. And therefore would not return.
The room was really nice and the different accomodations (3 swimming pool and the fitness center free) The 5 restaurants were really poor comparing to the price they applied. The quality of food for a 5 stars hotel were really average and the price really expensive. The blue door restaurant was nice but sometimes I thought we had frozen food. The restaurants in Elounda (the town next door) were much more nicer than the one in the hotels.
peaceful, quiet, good place to relax 1.The greek restaurant should have a cover for the raining days; 2.The rooms should have acoustic insulation; 3. Should have more variety of fruits at breakfast; L'orangerie restaurant is not good for the price, the service is uncoordinated and bad.
View from room, breakfast, beach and swimming area
It is a lovely small family-run hotel. The owners were very kind and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit! They were very generous, eg providing use of the internet, being very flexible about unusual arrival and departure times. I highly recommend this hotel! Nothing
amazing view (sea view appartment) we did not have new towels every day
We were met by the owner, Manolis, who was expecting us. After showing us to our room, he brought fresh fruit and homemade raki. The room had a terrace on the harbor. The location was ideal. The breakfast was sumptuous and offerings were mostly home baked. A friendly and attentive staff tended to every need. None
Excellent; Agios Nikolas is amazing and the Palazzo is the perfect apartment- by FAR!!! A South wind can blow out the beach in October- otherwise, perfect!
It is charming, sparkling clean, and across the road from a lovely beach. The hotel staff (K. Dermatzakis and family) could not have been more welcoming and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Agios Nikolaos. It is difficult to find because the streets of the town are narrow and one-way. Signage could be greatly improved.
The welcome was warm and the view exceptional. Palazzo has all the amenities of a big hotel but the kind consideration and attention of a small family run hotel. Absolutely the best of both worlds!
Excellent location - near the town centre and the best town beach. Poppi the owner was so helpful and welcoming. The rooms are old-fashoned, very nice-styled. Great balcony view. Busy road downside, noisy dust cart every morning.
Beautiful palace over the beach in the nicest part of Agios Nikolaos. Thanks to booking.com and the previous guests to help us find this place.
The location is excellent, right near the town centre, lake and small beach. The rooms are rather gloomy, and as one room was on the side, the so-called sea view was limited.
Friendy and helpfull staff. Beautiful location and service provided.
The staff were very friendly and the animation team were very professional. Allthe restaurant staff worked very hard to ensure you werew attended to prompltly. The hotel is very datted and like most Greek accommodation flatters itself that it is a 4 star. There were no facilites in the rooms other than a fridge and the rooms were basic but adequate. The loication of the hotel is poor and it is 35 minutes walk to the resort and longer to come bacxk on roads without pavements.
The hotel was very good value for money, we only stayed 1 night, but wished we were there for longer, pleasant surroundings, set in lovely gardens
The employees are really polite and and very pleasant. The swimming pools have a nice area and the hotel beach, even being stony, is great for snorkling. But I really recommend a car rental because there are many worth blue beaches close to Elounda. The hotel food is also really good.
Excellent room, staff really friendly & very helpful None
Affordable price of room with half board, staff, internet facilities in the lobby at reasonable prices. Great value for money Not a sandy beach
Quiet, friendly. Spacious. Ground floor room. Lovely pools. Access to sea. Very good food and wines. People smoking on adjacent balconies
the top pool had room to sunbathe. staff favoured french communication. lack of air con in dining / public areas. absolutely no view from garden view room, this spoilt the holiday. useless broken gym facility.filthy under the bed. the accomodation was double the price it should have been
Very Friendly and Relaxed Atmosphere.
It was quiet and also convenient for Elounda I found the hotel very good, but there could be some improvement regarding a couple of the staff at reception.A smile does not hurt!
We loved this hotel. We stayed half board. lovely location, great value, pleasant food, friendly staff meant a relaxing stay for 3 days.
Quiet, clean, midway between bus station and harbour Credit Card number taken at booking, but cash needed at checkout.
Good location, only few minutes walk to the lagoon. I would suggest getting a studio, for small extra cost the room is nearly twice the size. Parking is on-street which is not a problem, get a road map though as there are a number of narrow and one way streets. Could not get wifi in the studios (which wasn't a problem for us), communal PC in reception could be used if required.
Room decoration is very modern and furnishings look quite new. The shower does not have any curtain so after taking a shower the bathroom is a bit flooded.
The hotel was clean, the staff polite (albeit bit short of words) but everything was just simple and straightforward. An enjoyable stay and in a good distance from the town centre.. all in all a recommended budget hotel.. nothing spectacular but nothing short of.. Well short of more breakfast, bit simple, tasty but very small. Do not expect a buffet or cereal etc- a coffee, some orange juice, toasted bread and one croissant will have to be enough to start your day..
Having a very clean and comfortable room to sleep in after a long journey and midnight arrival.
Brilliant value for money. Simple, bright, clean, comfortable and welcoming. I have already recommenend it to friends.
Very nice hotel little bit out of town but provide you with luxury of nice room with private pool and great views If you travell to crete than this is a place to stay for a couple of days none and that is rare for me :)
Great hotel with comfortable rooms and beds. View from the room with the pool was amazing. The resort is like a little town and staff runs club cars to and from the rooms whenever you need to go to the main hotel building with restaurants. Dinning options are limited specially when the Greek restaurant was closed for dinner both nights we were there.
The location of the hotel is great, the rooms are very relaxing, the hotel staff is very kindly
I really liked the room, hotel location, responsive staff, excellent breakfast, fitness room and an instructor, a spa center, clean rooms I did not like eating in restaurants la carte, wine list is scant. The fitness room average weight dumbbells. The spa is very difficult to choose a program, since it is absent Annotated. When booking at the hotel indicated the presence of ironing boards and irons in every room but on arrival they had not been! Had to call and ask, brought later. Also at the hotel site says that the pool in a room with heating, but it turned out that he is the same as sea water, in our case it was very cold, while the sun was not our side.
great experience;a very nice location with spectacular panorama, many facilities for relaxing, good restaurants and all you need for a wonderful vacation.
The hotel was conveniently situated in the town with easy access to the center and the beaches. The air conditioning in my room did not work so I slept with the balcony door open. There is a main road outside the hotel and I was woken up most nights by loud traffic noises (2 stroke motor cycle engines especially) or people walking home from a night out talking to (shouting at) each other.
Nice room, good view over the bay.
Only unique thing they have - children playground with nice lady speaking many languages (including Russian). Playground is between beach and restaurant. Price of room should be at least twice cheaper to be reasonable. This is very old hotel and despite they made all efforts to keep it in good condition it is impossible. It was impossible to get to our room with children trolley and 6 times a day we have to climb stairs with trolley in hand. But in general Elounda is very good prepared to go with trolley.
service and surroundings
We were warmly welcomed here. A great location - beach one side, ocean views and the city centre a stroll away. An easy drive to Heraklion so an excellent base from which to explore Crete. We really enjoyed our stay there.
I loved the service and helpfulness of the owner. The location was wonderful, it was extraordinarily close to the water and i would drink my coffee starring at the sunrise every morning. The rooms were spotless! It was absolutely perfect....i've already booked for next year!
clean room and good access to town noise from other quests
Room with sea views was beautiful. Staff was very friendly and kind.
A perfect view to Mirambello Bay- best place to stay in Agios Nikolaos!
woderful freindly hotel with first class views and value for money accomodation
The place of the hotel and very friendly staff. No elevator, I needed to take my luggage on the second floor by mysalf.
We ony were there one night, but it was very nice
Clean rooms, small and friendly. We liked it so much we stayed a second night. We booked 2 x 4 bedded apartments(each one to accommodate two adults and one child) however when we arrived we were only offerred 1 x 4 bedded apartment and 1 double room. We had little option but to accept and change our sleeping arrrangements.
The greek hospitality, the greek atmosphere, and the lovely people at the hotel - og the very good service from all. After 20 years of holidays in Greece is this hotel one of the best we have stayed at. We wish of cource to come back to Pergola!!
Central location. Ideal for walking around the town The bathroom was very small.
The beds we hard, it was hot no A/c and the fan was ineffective. Was not value for money and had no facilities to speak of. Generally uncomfortable. Certainly would not book it again or recommend it to others.
the kindness of the staff, and the location of the hotel no
Excellent staff, very friendly. Good location.
The apartment was very large and the location excellent. The ower was very kind and friendly, and we really felt at home. Excellent value for the price. The bathroom was quite old.
A fantastic apartment, a fantastic staff, good location, wihtout any doubt i recoment Mantraki Apartments. I maked a trip all around Crete and for such a price it was the apartment with better quality i stay (very good relation quality/price).
Hospitality of staff, food and service at the restaurant rooms are nor very modern
Staff friendly and rooms kept clean TV needs more UK stations and not just the boring BBC World
The sea view was delightful. The guest room was tired and badly in need of renovation. There were cracked tiles in the bathroom. The room stank of 'air freshener'. All in all it was hard to see how the hotel retained a four-star rating.
The location. Close to the main part of town and across the road from the beach. Definitely not a 4 star hotel. The hotel is in dire need of an update. The stucco ceilings and dingy dark hallways are totally depressing... The carpet needs ripping out... Probably hasnt been changed since the 70s!!!
The lobby was very pretty as well as the pool area. I felt the food was very poor and the beds were unbearably hard. I just did not think for the price that it was worth the money. They need to do as much work in the rooms as they have done in the lobby. However, I have not liked Crete overall.
the front desk of the hotel were very obliging and friendly and went out of there way to offer additional service to me.
Lovely little hotel in old part of city.
Hotel was well designed, the grounds attractive and well kept. we only booked breakfast, but that was good. All staff very helpful and friendly.we had a junior suit and shared pool, kept clean and was a pleasure to be there.Would we go back yes. Not really no.
The hotel was in a good location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we only found the shortcut to town on the second last day (although we didn't ask anyone either). Overall we were very pleased with the hotel and facilities and would go back again.
We liked the location, the staff & the view, since we've upgraded to a jounior suite, we enjoyed a joining swimming pool. Breakfast was poor in variety & freshness. There are only twin beds available (& they're too firm) no double king or queen size.
The staff were very friendly, helpful, and went out of there way to make sure we had a great time either by making suggestions for things to visit, restaurant recommendations, or just helping us with small problems. The room was clean and modern, and we had a nice terrace looking out onto the sea. The location of the hotel was very good & the pool is a great relief. In the morning the pool area was quiet, but fills up in the afternoon as other guests come back from their travels 1. It was difficult to find the hotel, because the sign was small. The quality of the fruits and yogurt for breakfast could have been better. Only the 5 star hotels in Elounda have their own private beach, which would be nice instead of having to travel to the public beaches or the small hidden ones. At the end of the day, many guests come back to use the pool, but as soon as the sun sets you pretty much have the pool to yourself. For those who take the pension with meals, depending on when you eat, you may be watching people swim in the pool while you eat.
Lovely room, with semi-private infinity pool. Generally luxurious feeling, but at the same time not too expensive. The hotel is too far to walk into the center of Elounda for dinner. The in-house dinner buffet was excellent, but it might get monotonous.
We loved the Villa. It was spectacular and the service of the staff was excellent. If this place was right on the beach it would be the perfect resort.
nice hotel but not really design as you explain in the descriptif:the room furniture were really classic
Very clean and a nice modern style. The bathroom was really fine. The aircondition was very effecient. Nice and quite surroundings It was a little far away from the beach 1 km away. It was not near to a town. As we had a car it was no problem.
very nice hospitality,peacefull enviroment
Great value for money to stay at Elounda, very close to all beaches and restaurants with a car or a moto (you need it anyway to explore the whole Lassithi area). A lot of shadowed parking spaces. Spacious room with nice lighting, big marble bathroom, powerful airconditioning. Excellent sea views from the room's balcony. Breakfast is buffet, not continental as advertised, and it's variation, quality and quantity is very good. Helpful and smiling people, they really make you feel like home. As you already understand, we'll definitely be back!
the location was fabulous
Was ther 6 nights and stayed in 2 different rooms (1st and 3rd floors). Excellent View (when staying on Lagoon-side), Cheap, Clean, central, aircon (v important in the 30 degree heat!), recently-refurbished, fridge, can sit out on the balcony.
conveniently located in the center of town, near good resturants and a nice beach. we had a nice room with a good view of the lake. it would have been nice to have breakfast as part of the room rent
Central and convenient to shopping, eating and nightlife. For very little extra, the studio option gave lots more room, plus a kitchenette, which was useful as the hotel does not provide breakfast. Great view over the Lake! The music cafe right underneath was very loud at night, but this is no problem at all if you travel with earplugs.
Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms, great view over the "lake". No parking facilities in the middle of a busy city centre in summer.
Very spacious room, quiet neighborhood, great location, cheap = absolute tip for your next holidays in agios nikolaos There's no breakfast
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Very good central location with fantastic view over the lake from the room balcony.
You can't beat the location or the views over the lake. I've stayed in this hotel twice before, but the experience this time ensured that I will never stay there again. The cleanliness of the room was questionable (hairs in the beds and bathroom), the shower was terrible (alternating between scalding and freezing water, and it flooded the whole bathroom), the beds were so uncomfortable that my husband hardly slept all night. This used to be a nice hotel, but it needs to be renovated and cleaned up. I would've recommended it years ago, but not any longer!
E£xcellent staff - very helpful and friendly. Situation overlooking the lake is superb. Real value for money accommodation.
i was very content what about the central situated location
The management did everything to make our stay as comfortable as they could. The service was the best we have ever received at any apartments and the standard of facilities could not have been better. We enjoyed our stay so much we are going back again in 3 months time.
The hotel staff was very very friendly!I liked very much the location (only 5 minutes took us to arrive to Kitroplatia beach). The room was cleaned every day! Execellen price for excellen facilinies.
The friendliness and disponibility of the proprietors really made our stay a great success. All in all a place worth recommending. There were only to "very" minor deficiencies:no tent on the gorgious balcony and no satellite TV (they have only greek TV in the rooms!).
very nice comfortable and clean hotel in a quiet location five minute walk from city center
Notre grand studio avait une magnifique vue sur la mer. Our studio was big with a nice view on the sea. Coin cuisine complètement équipé. Kitchen full equiped. Propreté impeccable. Room very clean. Accueil chaleureux. Friendly and helpful staff. Secteur calme. Calm location. Plage à 100 m. Beach 100 m away.
Lovely place - friendly staff, good location, quiet street, but very close to beach, town centre. Sea view balcony. Excellent.
Our rooms were wonderful - bedroom plus kitchen; great balcony with beautiful view.
I enjoyed the staff, they have been really nice and lovely with us. For everything we asked they were ready and helpfull. They care about the way we wished breakfast, we tasted every morning breakfast in the room (without any extra surchage), full of tasty cakes, yogurt and fresh bread. The apartment was fully equiped, the sea is just 3 min. by walk away. The beach is not so big but is never crowded and you can choose to rent umbrellas for a full day it costs just 7 euro with two chairs included. We thank hotel Creta's Staff for every attention received also concerning parking. We could park every day without any kind of problem. We spent there a wonderful week!!!
clean and friendly always willing to help
spacious rooms, staff friendliness
the overall concept is nice. very relaxing. lovely private beach with trees details that I would expect in a 5 star hotel: more than one bin in the room, clean floors and windows in the restaurant, service at the beach at 10 am
Excellent staff, facility and location
The place was beautiful and the sea was a pleasure. But what really impressed me was the kindness of the personnel, they really care for you and made their best to stay really pleasant They only thing to have in mind is that many suites that include a private Jacuzzi or pool at the terrace as saw in the pictures of the hotel do not have the privacy that someone might expect, in the sense that your pool or terrace can be perfectly viewed by anyone walking around. I'd recommend that if this is the case and you want more privacy, talk with the guest relations and ask for another one because with more privacy there are some.
Nice view, very friendly staff (reception a bit slow), room could be cleaner
resort-like hotel perched upon the mountainside overlooking a stunning little bay outside Istron, beach at 2 minutes walk down a stairs among ficus trees and bushes. Free parking, pools, minimarket. Friendly staff, got offered a bottle of wine by the night-watcher to apologize for forgetting our wake-up call:) paid 68eur/night Food at the dinner buffet (12 eur) and breakfast wasn't so good (very fast food like). Wifi is not free (cheap though, 90min/5eur)
Distance from the beach Quality of breakfast
the quality of breakfast/dinner was very poor
We have stayed in many hotels and villas in Greece. The Atlantha is the cleanest and best kept property yet.Good location, nice size rooms, good pool and good air conditioning. The pool area was where the snack bar was located and therefore convenient for breakfast.Unfortunately there was very little shade, about enough for a table for 4 and a table of 2.Just not enough for a propert with 30 apartments.
The staff were extremely helpful, both before and during our stay. Welcoming and unobtrusive
Close to town, two air-conditioners--two rooms, big elevator, friendly staff.. A beautiful pool area overlooking the sea. Always found parking along the street. My wife liked the room! The door did jam and lights were not working in stairwells. This is an apartment complex, not a hotel. A woman alone who needs a bell-hop won't get one! Most of the rooms do not have sea views. Close to town, but you need to walk--ok by us.
Close to downtown, the staff was friendly and helpful. Impossible to get hot water early in the morning, plan on shower at night if you are leaving around 7 AM.
My gf and I enjoyed staying at the Alantha Apartments very, very much; excellent staff, great location, magnificient view from the swimming pool and great restaurants closeby. I would recommend it to anyone without hesitating! Leaving the hotel after a great week!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was up to date and well equipped. The facilities were good. The hotel was well managed. Nothing
friendly,helpful staff.clean,spacious apartments.good location.
Comfortable apartments, friendly English-speaking staff, nice pool on the roof
Location and views of the water were very good as was the accommodation.
We had a lovely room with a shared pool and a sea view. Very spacious. The hotel needs a facelift. The grounds are not well kept and the hallways had mold and dirt. This is a beautiful hotel in need of some TLC.
The views were spectacular, the rooms spacious and kept clean. The breakfasts offered a great choice and staff were very friendly and accomodating The air conditioning in the rooms could have been better.
the quite environment, excellent view and prefect place to have a rest
The location and the views Aircondition
The location of the hotel was great.
sumptious surroundings hotel on the slide, gardens neglected, nothing when weather bad,one british tv channel(news), like a retirement home.
The location and the view from our room are excellent. Especially the park-like surroundings along the sea front within the hotel area is really nice. We had half-board; the dinner was good with delicious varieties. We really enjoyed our stay there. Some of the facilities, e.g. bath room, could be improved to reflect the 5 stars that is listed in Booking.com. The wireless did not function there.
I thought for the price the hotel was a little run down and needed a renovation. I found the beds to be very uncomfortable and the rooms not very cosy.
Perfect location with quiet and beautiful surroundings and great view over the sea and city; Our Standard room was bigger than expected. :) The hotel is quite old; therefore some areas should be renovated; Better sound isolation in the room would be nice; Lack of bathroom amenities.
